Songs of Love and Laughter

Eclectic Voices, with Highbury Youth Choir and a stellar jazz quartet, perform a new song cycle by director Scott Stroman on poems by Wendy Cope, plus close-harmony jazz by Duke Ellington, Joni Mitchell, John Dankworth, Gene Puerling and Chick Corea.

Scott Stroman is a conductor, composer, trombonist and singer in a uniquely broad range of musical styles, from jazz to classical, contemporary, and world music. 

A native of the USA based in London since 1982, he founded EV in 1991 and is director of the London Jazz Orchestra, artistic director of Highbury Opera Theatre, Director of Music at the American International Church, and a professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he developed and directed their world-class jazz programme.

Eclectic Voices is an ambitious and versatile London choir that sings in an unusually wide range of styles: classical, contemporary, ethnic, folk and world music, gospel and jazz. It has performed in a variety of settings, including the London Jazz Festival, and has worked with leading professional period music ensembles, classical orchestras, jazz and folk musicians.
